About this painting: "Flyer"
The beautiful, almost spiritual bird in this painting is a young "Major Mitchells' Cockatoo” so named after the first scientist who identified it. They are found thriving in central Australia, and because of the remote habitat, are not endangered. The species is a true pink bird, even the eyes being a deep magenta-red.
