| About this painting: 'Play Time' is one in a group of pastel paintings I created when I returned from a trip to South America. I visited a wonderful sanctuary that had all types of parrots and toucans freely walking and climbing about on trees and gyms. Their flight wings were clipped so they could only flutter down and then have to climb back up. The Parrots in this painting are a Green Wing Macaw and a Scarlet Macaw. Originally the photo and video I captured showed them playing in a seed trough. I simplified the background, but kept their acrobatics true to the antics they went through as they played.
