| About this painting: These two small parrots were somewhat apart from the rest of the birds in an aviary. They looked like they were conversing and I couldn't resist the sweet poses. A few photos later, I was back at the easel, sketching. The parrots needed to have a background to set them off. And after a while, I found just what I needed--two brightly colored canisters. I set up the still life part at a window and proceeded to sketch, then paint the scene. Sugar & Spice is also the first of the Story Bird Series that comes a copy of "The Story" behind the painting written by the artist. |
